I installed knoppmyth by putting in the cd and running the auto install. After it rebooted it could not find my network card (its an nforce2 onboard, seperate problem). I set the backend ip addy to 127.0.0.1 so that I could connect to it with the frontend without having my network card working. After going in and choosing my tuner card and all I exited the initial setup. It then goes to the myth tv program, but if I try to do something it tells me it cannot connect with the back end and asks me to check the ip addy I set. I never set an ip for the frontend, where should I do that at?

Also I was somewhere in the myth program and saw some video coming through live, it looked horrible but it was there.

I am somewhat new to linux, and extremely new to Myth.

Thank you for any help you can give me.

I read somewhere (probably in the docs, but I can't find it now) that you cannot use "127.0.0.1" as the address. try using "localhost" (without quotes) instead.

I was confused as I am running composite from the sattelite reciever to the capture card instead of using the coaxial connection. I had not set a source and connected that to the composite. It is working now. I just have to find the command to make mplayer pop up on the secondary screen.

Thanks for the help PhyrePhox.
