Post subject:  Commercial skipping doesn't work on remote frontend

I set up Knoppmyth with frontend and backend on one PC and it's working fine.
When I configured a second frontend, it couldn't access the recorded shows on the master (but it could read the database and display the list of recorded shows). I solved this by mounting the backend's recorded shows directory in place of the one created on the frontend.
Now, I can watch recorded shows, but when I try to skip commercials, I get a message "not flagged". If I watch the same show on the master system, or on a frontend installed on a laptop, the commercials are skipped correctly. Also, the laptop installation worked correclty, without the need to mount the recorded shows directory.

So, I either need to figure out why the extra mounting step was required, and hope that fixing it fixes the commercial skip, or figure out where the commercial flagging information is stored and mount it also.

Any ideas?

Bill

You shouldn't have to mount anything on the backend for a frontend. Are you certain you have everything configured correctly?

I probably have something misconfigured, but I can't figure out what. I suppose I could try starting over with a fresh install.
