Say I'm browsing through the program guide and I see something I might want to watch.

How do I switch to live TV?

Whenever I select the program I'm interested in Myth just assumes I want to record the show and brings up the record dialog.

Where is the option to "View This Show"?

Hm.

Looks like you have to use the keyboard to change the channel from the EPG?

There should really be a menu item for this IMO.

Makes it easier to use with a remote control and you don't have to remember so many keystrokes or have a damn chart with you just to be able to use Myth.

That or you can go into the setup menus and select the "enter changes channel from program guide" option. ;-) Honest, it's there, I just don't remember exactly where.

Cool. It's there under program guide in the setup.

However, now I loose the recording options menu.
I guess I can't have my cake and eat it too.

BTW, if Myth is ever going to go mainstream it's going to have to be simplified. There are too many options, too many choices for the average consumer. Much of this needs to be hidden in an "advanced" section.

I especially think the TV menus need to be reorganized and simplified. "Watch Recordings", "Delete Recordings" and "Previously Recorded" could all be combined, etc.

Then again, if Myth is just going to be for Linux hackers I guess it doesn't matter so much.

No you don't. For that you can use "i", or to just record it "r".

There is a document for this stuff over on the MythTV website: http://www.mythtv.org/docs/mythtv-HOWTO-11.html
