I have a P4 1.8 / 512MB RAM / 120GB Harddisk HTPC running Fedora Core 4. I also have an AIW card that I used to use (and may use for SVideo Out) and a Hauppage PVR-350 capture card.

I am following the install guide here (http://wilsonet.com/mythtv/fcmyth.php), and can capture video fine. I cannot, however, get it to capture sound. I know that the sound runs through the soundcard (which is on-board). The sound works fine when I play audio cds, but will not work when playing back video captured using the capture card. I've tried reformatting about 4 times already and have all-but not given up (which is my next step if i can't get this working).

I'd be very appreciative if someone could help me through getting the soudn working.

Below is my modprobe.conf file as well as .asoundrc file

Does the card that you are using for video out have a sound out? I had a similar problem when I first setup my KnoppMyth. Then I discovered I could just use the sound out from my PVR-350 (which I use for video out).

No, there is no audio out on the PVR-350. There is an SVid In, Composit/SPDIF out, FM In, Cable In, IR Out, and Audio In.

yes the pvr350's do have audio out. and if you are going to try to use the tvout you have to use the audio out as well. search the forums here for more details on the options.
