Hi, I've gone through and added cutlists to my recordings manually. I would like to have mythtv splice out the commercials so that it is not wasting space on commercials. Is this possible? |

Yup. After building you cut list, transcode it. |

It was already automatically transcoded to mpeg-4 before I created the cut list. When I try to transcode again (by hitting X), it puts it in the queue, but it gives an error and says it's not able to. I assumed that was because it was already in mpeg4 format. Is this error normal when trying to transcode an mpeg 4 file to remove the commercials? If you can normally re-transcode something already in mpeg-4 format, how can I figure out what is causing the error I'm getting? |

I've been reading the forums for quite a while now trying to figure out the best way to have MythTV automatically cut out the commercials. I know that right now after the recording is done my back end will commercial flag it. but this doesn't actually get rid of the commercials. I've been reading about this mythburn script and projectx looks like projectx will strip the videofile as long as it's not transcoded to mpeg 4? (a little confused about this) I have a PVR-500MCE working nicely under Knopmyth R5A16, and having the commercials stiripped after the recording would be fantastic... then it'd be all set to burn to disc using mythburn or standard mkisofs / growisofs / cdrecord. anyhow anyone have any idea on how to do this automatically? it would be a big help! Thanks, - M - |

If you read through the rather long thread on commercial_cut, you may find some useful info. I dont do any auto detection and cutting myself, but someone using commercial_cut discussed it (or perhaps just mentioned it) in that thread. http://mysettopbox.tv/phpBB2/viewtopic. ... t&start=75 |
