Hiya, I have mythTV backend running on a fedora core 4 install (kernel upped to 2.6.13) with a twinhan DVB-T USB2 tuner. I'm using an xbox with XBMC and the mythtv python script as my frontend.

Whenever I start a live tv channel, the content displays fine with sound for about 5 seconds, then simply stops and returns me to the live tv channel menu. This happens on all channels, always the same amount of video plays, then stops.

Has anyone else had the same error, or have any tips on what might be causing the problem?

Thanks in advance for your help.

Yup, in fact if you look in the discussion forum on their site it's a known issue and has a workaround (sort of). You have to increase the ring buffer in XBMCMythTV settings to 8.5 meg or so. As best I can figure out, XBMC starts playing the file but for whatever reason reaches the end before enough is created to stream. That's why you get the short video. The only down side to making it that big is it takes forever to start playing so be patient. It should however keep going once it starts.

Later,
Gonz
