Hi,

Having two problems...

My setup:

(1) Hauppauge WinTV-PVR-500MCE
(1) PNY Verto GeForce FX5500 Graphics Adapter AGP - 128 MB
Sempron 2200 with 512MB PC2600 Ram (1 stick)
30Gb IDE hard drive (yeah I know, I'm gonna get 120Gb soon)
R5A22 Knoppmyth
Snapstream USB remote

problems:

(1) Livetv in the top and left side of the screen is thin blue lines which I'm guessing is an offset problem? I have the nvidia drivers installed, unfortunatly on my TV it appears the aliasing is bad, because you cannot read the text in fluxbox without squinting.... so I havent been able to play with it and nvtv refuses to run in CLI mode...

(2) The myth frontend freeze, even if its just sitting on the main menu after booting, after about 15 minutes, I'm thinking it might be resolved with some swap space, or maybe lowering the ring-buffer to like 5 GB....

Any suggestions?

There is a simple fix for this, a search for "blue borders" here should provide the details. Basically, if you use your favorite Unix editor to add the xvattr line shown below it takes care of it. BTW - I highly recommend that you cut and paste so as not to confuse the square and curly braces.
Code:
root@black2:~# cat /home/mythtv/.fluxbox/apps
[startup] {xset -dpms s off}
[startup] {xvattr -a XV_COLORKEY -v 0}
[startup] {nvidia-settings --load-config-only}
[startup] {KnoppMyth-run}
[app] (SDL_App)
  [Layer]       {2}
  [Deco]        {NONE}
[end]

Thanks! I was missing border as a search term :-(

BTW if anyone is interested, the problem with mythfe freezing was related to a toasted CPU/MOBO, which eventually gave up after a long fight last night...
