i have a directv and i live in californai.... the guide (dtv) will say mad tv on comedy central is form 10AM to 11AM but that is not the case on my mythTV program guides.... as the shows there are 7 hours ahead.... so directv will say mad tv from 10- 11 but mythtv will say 5 PM to 6PM how do i fix this.... this is a serious problem cuz none of my shows are recording at the proper time thanks for all your (future) help |

You didn't have your timezone set correctly when you populated the database. Search for posts by me that mention "timezone" for detailed instructions on how to fix this. BTW - This is an FAQ. You really should have been able to find this for yourself by searching the forums. ![]() |

Sorry dude, all I can tell you is that 95% of the time when folks have this problem the offset is the one from GMT to their timezone (let me guess you live in PST/PDT?), and it's because it wasn't right when they started and filled the DB. If you run the commands below... Code: root@black2:~# date
Sat Oct 29 20:40:00 EDT 2005 root@black2:~# TZ=GMT date Sun Oct 30 00:40:14 GMT 2005 and it shows the right thing, then you need to restart and purge your DB and refill it. I've provided detailed walk throughs of the steps to do this several times now. |

ok.... i screwed up the data base......like to the point where it wouldnt fullt boot.... so i just reinstalled... and i made shure that the timezones were completly correct........now it works perfectly..... but havuing a problem with my directv script.... but thats ok..... i think i can fix that. so thanks for your help...... ![]() |
