After a catastrophic destruction of my database (I guess I somehow "restored" a week old copy of my database), I have been trying to sort through a ton of orphaned .nuv files.

I just tried to run the mythlink.sh script, but all I get is a pageful of errors all complaining about major problems with the script. Is there perhaps a different version of the script available that will actually run?

Thanks.

Thanks. Copying mythlink.sh.orig to mythlink.sh did the trick.

Hi cmaines,

That file seems to have gotten damaged while building the iso however there is a lenghtly thread on the topic. Look in this area and maybe you will want to experiment more.

should get you into the general area. Just watch out for word wrap and truncation if you do any copy / paste.

Mike

Thanks Mike (mjl),

I had come across the post you mentioned already and got it to work successfully as well - I figured out that the line truncation/line wrap was the problem with the first mythlink.sh script I mentioned in the original post.

On a related note, there seems to be a problem with the KnoppMyth restore function, at least in R5A22. Although I still have access within MythTV to all the recordings that were restored, they are somehow not completely acknowledged by MythTV:

1.) The storage option settings for a restored recording act like the existing recordings are not there, eg. - keep only four recordings and delete the oldest when a fifth recording is made.
2.) The "dead_wood" script (mentioned in the posting you reference) treats the recordings from the restored database as orphaned recordings. I'll also add this info to the thread that discusses the "dead_wood" script.

Chris
