Man I kind of hate posting when I'm not absolutely sure, but I'll do it anyway.
I believe AAC is also supported in MythTV. Whether it is there by default or requires a reconfigure I'm not as sure about.

I am considering jumping into the world of MythBox. Is there a capability that will allow me to also play all my lossless audio files? I would love to be able to have video and the ability to also play my music files. Most of my music is in APE but can be converted to any other format. |

I'm not sure what codecs are built in, OGG and MP3 (lossy) at the very least. I suspect that .wav (lossless) works too, but since you can always add more yourself, you should be able to find some foramt that is both, relatively compact, lossless and supported. |

FLAC is the loseless codec that MythMusic supports. |
