Hi,

I'm a happy mythtv user. I ended up using Mandriva LE2006 as the distro that I run myth on. I have a few fine tuning questions for the pvr-150.

My front/backend Specs:
Geforce4 MX 4000 with TVout
2 PVR-150's
AMD Sempron 3100+
ivtv 0.4.0
32Inch Regular old TV

When I record shows, or watch directly using 'mplayer /dev/video0' as a test, I notice some motion artifacting. I hope I'm using the right term. Basically, when say there is a closeup on someone and the move their hand across the screen...it looks slightly like a strobe effect in movement. Not smooth. Also, on a scene where there is a say a solid color background like a wall...I notice an almost speckly effect.

I'm fairly confused as to what bitrate, bitmax, resolution bit settings I should be using.

Since this is consistent inside and outside of the mythtv interface...can I use the mplayer method directly and fiddle with ivtvctl? Is this a common problem?

I'll include the output from ivtvctl -a if that can help:

Thank you.
R
