Hello,

scanning for channels does not succeed at the moment
(neither with mythtv-setup ("Error tuning to transport" - although the card is detected) nor with scantv ("no graber device available")

As I am unsure whether this is caused by a poor antenna or by a bad location or by both or by wrong parameters in "mythtv-setup/tuning" I consider to use an existing channels.conf file of my area found here

Can someone tell me, how I get the channel datas (VDR-1.2.x format) like

BTW does anybody know a tool which shows signal strength? So I can find out how (if) my antenna works....

Less I'm mistaken, you need 0.19 to import channels...

right, the release notes of 0.19 MythTV say:
"Added support for importing channels.conf for ATSC cards when using DVB drivers"

So I will try this next.

If you can use atscscan to make your channels.conf then you can get the info you need and add the freqid, mplexid and service id into mysql manually and it should work. It may be easier just to use .19 though.

Right, actually I messed up my configuration when trying to upgrade from 0.18, so I did a clean install again.

Meanwhile, I found a good position for my antenna and scanning for channes worked well in MythTV 0.18 (without converting channels.conf).

Now I can watch live TV in very good quality.
