OK, using DirecTV w/ 878/bttv card. Had it up and working for a few weeks, just didn't have network cable plugged in, figured I'd plug it in and update the database when needed. Live and Recordings worked fine. Then green screen with static with 1 day left on my channel listings...hmm...nothiong changes, PC just sitting there, cables are OK. So, I plugged in net cable, ran mythupdate DB, verified card pretune set to channel 3, did this several times. Rebooted a few times during this process. So after that didn't resolve it, I ran setup again, first time left card settings alone, just grabbed new channel lineup and ran fillDB again. Reboot, still no luck. Ran setup again, deleted card info and channel info, re-added. Ran mythfill again, reboot, no luck. Here is mythbackend log output: Code: 2006-01-28 13:34:01.402 Changing from None to WatchingLiveTV

The only suggestion I would have is verify your /cache (or wherever you are storing the live TV buffer) is set so the permissions on the folder/file are okay for your myth user. Maybe it cannot delete the cache file. Just in case: ls -l to look at permissions, chmod to change them. Another possibility: Another page says this: Quote: > >From the FAQ:
> > ) What's this 'strange error flushing buffer' mean? > - Nothing, really. It's just lame (the mp3 encoder) complaining for some > obscure reason. Try changing your live tv profile to not use MP3 for the audio. |

I checked cache, ownership and permissions are OK. I dropped a temp file and deleted it in /cache/cache just in case , as mythtv user. As for the MP3 audio, what should I change that too ? I used it as such for a few weeks with no issues. |

I would just try changing it to uncompressed for now, just to see if that fixes it. |
