Post subject:  Automatically import commercials flags into cutlist?

Is there a way to configure MythTV to automatically import commercial flags into the cutlist? I believe currently the only way to do this is play the recording, enter the menu, edit the cutlist and hit "Z".

I am not concerned about verifying commercial detection. My objective is to have the commercials already loaded into the cutlist so that recordings will be in an "archive-ready" state without having to go through the above rigmarole.

Is this something that can be done by a user edit of some script?

While commercial flagging is great on some programs, on others it isn't. I'd stay play with the various methods first before transcoding.

I've yet to see commercial flagging results that are 100% right. Some of them are pretty good and they're generally at least useful as a starting point, but not something I'd use as a cut list for automatic transcoding.

I fully agree with you & Cecil, however I'm still hoping for an answer to my original question.

Well they're recorded in the DB, so you could do some evil DB munging. It'd actually be a pretty straight forward insert/select statement. For a sample, do it via the GUI, and then look at the mysql logs... That should at least provide a starting point.
