My apologies if my questions here are rather newbie, but this is my first attempt at building a PVR, I'm somewhat of a novice at Linux, and I'm up against a wall. I've installed KnoppMyth on an old box (P4 1.8ghz with 512mg ram) and a Hauppauge PRV-350. Everything appeared to go smooth (after a few hours of headaches, before realizing the CDROM was going out, but that's off topic). I inserted the 350, connected the box to my router and the cable line to the 350, and installed KnoppMyth. I can connect to DataDirect and DL the listings for my local cable, and I assigned these listings to Tuner 0 on my card. The database filled up, and off I went. Everything is beautiful, except I can only watch channels five and six (local CBS and CSPAN). Absolutely nothing but static on any other channel. I'm sure that there's something obvious that I'm missing... but right now it's 1am and I don't know where else to turn. Thanks in advance, Jon |

You've probably got the wrong "frequency set" for your cable system. Only being able to tune channels 5 & 6 where they come closest is a classic symptom of this. Searching for the quoted terms above or "HRC" should turn up instructions on how to fix this. |
