Post subject: | Right Arrow in playback - jumps back. |
First -- R5B7 Rocks. Thanks - Its great to have the auto-upgrade do all the right things. KnoppMyth is HUGE time saver in getting mythtv setup. I spun my wheels for while, trying to upgrade from 0.18 to 0.19 by building the debs and mucked things up, but the auto-upgrade made everyting right! First Question: ======= Often the *first* time I hit the Right arrow key to start skipping through a set commercials, it will jump back several minutes. Subsequent presses jump forward in the expected 30 second increments and when I get to next set of set commercials, it will happen again. I have checked the databases for errors and they all check out ok. Does anyone else see this behavior? Even better - Is there a fix? ====================== Second Question ========= On R5A16, in one of the menus, I had been able adjust the behavior of the Right, Left, Up and Down arrow in playback mode. The defaults of 30 secs for former and 1 minute for later it worked great for skipping thru commercials. (though, it still had that strage behave from my first question) Now, I can't find that option in menus and defaults for Up, Down have changed to 10 minutes for the Jumps (what Page Up and Page Down used to be) Is the option still in the menu's somewhere and I am just missing it? Can I change the behavior of these keys? If, so how? ================= Thanks all. |

The first problem that I mentioned above is fixed. ie. the video jumping back instead of forward. ==== Turns out this was PVR-350 PAL issue, and it messed up cutlist and com skipping as well ==== I didn't mention that in my orginal post as I was trying to keep it simple and felt that ==== all these issues were related. http://svn.mythtv.org/trac/ticket/1358 Follow the instructions on building and installing 0.19 debs - as latest patches will be applied as well in the process. http://mysettopbox.tv/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?t=9042 |

Hi Mac, I just realised I have the first problem you described. It wasn't really bugging me until I tried some comm cutting and it toasted my movie ![]() So I need to upgrade Myth - which version did you go to? Don't want to swap this problem for something new ![]() |

Great! I get to help you out now for your helping me out with the IvTV issues that I having. I don't think that it matters which which SVN version you go with as they are all bug fixes. (some of the bug fixes introduce bugs, but they seem to be found out and the tree reverted quickly) -- I did the below process and it came off without a hitch. This is from Building 0.19 debs sticky. http://mysettopbox.tv/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?t=9042 Code: --- login as mythtv ----
svn co http://svn.mythtv.org/svn/branches/release-0-19-fixes/mythtv wget ftp://ftp.knoppmyth.net/R5/diffs/knoppmyth_tv_0.19.0-4_i586.diff cd mythtv patch -p1 < ../knoppmyth_tv_0.19.0-4_i586.diff chmod +x debian/rules fakeroot dpkg-buildpackage -us -uc -b su - dpkg -i ../*.deb exit root@mythtv:~# mythbackend --version Library API version: 0.19.20060121-2 Source code version: 9591M from dpkg: mythtv 0.19.0-4_km_i586 |

Thanks, compiling as I write (9722). So you don't need to do the plugins as well? I was going to try it without but wasn't sure if there were some dependancies. |

nope, I didn't bother with plugins. Because its just fixes, there shouldn't be anything in it that affects the plugin debs. dpkg should complain too if it was going to break something. |

Well, all done and problem solved it seems, at least its reporting correct lengths when you pause. I've still to test comm cutting and lossless transcoding again ![]() |
