Post subject: | Pandora and Myth |
Hi All, In my ever increasing question to expand myth (thus, converge) I'm looking for a way to (intellegently) use Pandora with Mythtv. I suppose, I could bring up Mythbrowse, and go from there. But it would be cool to be able to control weather you liked the song or not from the remote. Anybody with suggestions? Is a Mythbrowser hack in order? pro |

Pandora requires a Flash plugin to work, so I'm not sure you'll ever be able to integrate it into the Myth Menu system. I use Pandora on Myth via Firefox. I added the Linux Firefox 1.5.x distribution from http://www.mozilla.com (do not apt-get it!) onto R5B7. installed it in /usr/local/firefox, soft linked /usr/local/firefox/firefox->/usr/local/bin/firefox and then added this code to: /usr/share/mythtv/mainmenu.xml Code: <button>
<type>PLAY_MUSIC</type> <text>Pandora</text> <action>EXEC /usr/local/bin/firefox "http://www.pandora.com" </action> </button> If you set up your Pandora account for auto-login, selecting the PANDORA button in MythTV will open Firefox, connect to Pandora and play whatever station you were last using. However, to close Firefox you do need a real keyboard (ALT-F X) or mouse... so it will not work with just an IR remote. |
