After my Knoppmyth box has been runing fine since the day after R5B7 came out, it's decided to crap out all at once. I currently am unable to access MythWeb, or watch TV on the unit itself. I am unable to run a fair amount of applications on the system, including Bash and sh. And after a while of the machine being on the ethernet connection gives out. I'm only a linux beginner, and this is really starting to get frustrating.... any ideas?[/code] |

I've had other systems seem to go flacky, and it always seemed to be the memory. Do you have any memory that you can swap to see if that solves the problem? |

Swapped the two sticks for a single spare stick of 512meg... I can get to mythweb after a bit now, but only to see an error message. Nothing else is working still.
http://msremake.com/mythweb.htm Noting that it said the backend wasn't running, I attempted to start it manually only to be greeted with the message "Failed to bind port 6543. Exiting." |

Ok.. Then boot the system and try to provide actual problems with any log output. "Things don't work" does give much to go on... |

Well, the problem is that the programs simply don't launch... Theres not really any logs to give. |

You are probably out of room on /. If an xterm won't open to delete logs, you can boot off the CD. Boot off the cd, mount /dev/hda1 rw and delete the logs. |

Xterm is openning, and I deleted the logs... however, stuff still isn't working. Infact, it looks like I don't have any networking right now. |
