Knoppmyth R5B7 with PVR-150 on an old Duron 900 VIA-Based (I know VIA but this computer was just collecting dust so worth a try). The fact that the firmware loads with a manual hotplug restart should indicate my firware is in the correct place? Correct? How can I get this firware to load on boot? I am a Linux NOOB so let me know if you need any more info. This is such a great resource and program that I would love to get it running. Thanks in advance. |

might try putting those commands in /etc/init.d/bootmisc.sh or try removing the ivtv line from /etc/modules Craig |

I got frustrated (messed something else up) and went for a reinstall. The problem did not surface on the reinstall. Thanks for the tip. If it comes back, I'll know what to do. -Chance |

I have this same issue with a PVR-500 - there is several posts (search) about this topic and a few hack. (i think it was a bug someone documented) the one thing i dont get is why when you reinstall it will work. if i reinstall its a 50/50 chance that it will fail or work. little perplexed there. I got the same trouble with R5B7 and a HP400 VL Small Factor. I don't understand anything to this but the fact is it is a bug. |

This looks very similar to another issue that the IVTV drivers had a while back which supposedly got fixed. Any tuner that shows up as "type 4" is a problem because at one point "4" was the code for "no tuner found". If you're feeling ambitious you can dig through the Trac logs for the IVTV driver to see what the resolution on that was. |
