If anyone is interested in a party in Melbourne, Australia then I'd go along.

North of England anyone? If there is only 1 UK one to be had then perhaps a brummie should host, being in the middle.

If folks are interested in a party, I'd encourage you to start making plans. Make a post, contact your local LUG, invite friends, etc. If you build it, there will come.

I can host in Austin, TX for Central Texas.

Unfortunately, I didn't look at my calendar closely before I offered to host and I have to work all day on 2/16/08. So, I must retract my offer to host (though I could do it if the install party were extended to Sunday 2/17 as well).

I'll post the message to Vanlug and FVLUG. I think it's a great. idea. I'll most likely be out of the area on the 16 of Feb, but I'll still try to drum up support and get a location together. I'm sure we can get some space at a local university/college.

If you can put something together for the 17th, that would be great!

Hi,

Are there any plans in the works for communications for the Feb event? A friend is thinking of having a few friends over his house for the Saturday "building a KM session" so it was an item that came up in our discussions.

Maybe someone can fire up a camserv and have a stream available? Loop a video for the stream? Maybe email or irc for questions?

Also has anyone put together or thought about a video howto as was done in the way back days? I think the last one was by Kevin Rose which is a little out of date now.

Or even a screen setup sequence of png's for a basic show and tell would be nice.

There are so many little settings that even after several years I am still discovering different items to change to make things better, and some of those change with each upgrade.

Thanks
Mike

Post subject:  MythTV install-party in Paris (France) - 2008-04-12

Hi,

We are planning a KnoppMyth install-party in Paris, the 12th of april, 2008. Thanks to Parinux (a LUG acting in Paris), we booked for one day a workshop at La Villette Conference Centre. The event will be backed by other LUGs such as Fedora-fr, Ubuntu-fr, and Starinux. It has not been officially announced yet, but it is a matter of weeks (a dedicated web page is under design).

Hi,

At this point it looks as if the install party tomorrow is R5F27... ? Any common communication points, chat, sat time, emails?

Anyone hosting in the West Atlanta area For Saturday or Sunday?

(My mouth had begun to water over the hints of R6 but something
familiar like R5F27 is probably be best for demo)

Post subject:  Install-party - can you help us through IRC #knoppmyth ?

Some of the config issues we will have to face during install-party may be tricky to solve. Perhaps people helping to install KnoppMyth during the event won't have an immediate answer.

Could we rely on you, guys, who know KnoppMyth from everyday use, to provide us comments and support during our install-party, through IRC #knoppmyth ?

Here is a slight concern : as the event will run in France from 10:00 am to 4:00 pm UTC, this equals to :
3:00 am to 09:00 am PST
6:00 am to 12:00 pm EST

Are there some brave enough to be with us during that time, or perhaps support might come from some other parts of the world ?

Thanks for comments.
