Hi all.

I finally got around to trying to get my KM box to get video from my digital cable box for improved picture and access to all of the digital-only channels that I get. My capture card is a PVR-500. I only have one cable box (so far), so I figured I'd hook the cable box up to the S-Video port (and audio via the RCA jacks), but still run a coax line directly into the PVR so it can record the analog broadcasts when there are conflicts.

After about an hour of yelling at lirc, I finally got it talking to my IRBlaster and the cable box now magically changes channels, and everything seems to be working correctly (including significantly improved picture quality), except...

Recordings from the cable box are MUCH quieter than from the other input. And by much, I mean that I have to turn my amp up to pretty much double the level I would before. This is somewhat of a problem, as if I'm watching a program recorded from the cable box then go to watch something that wasn't, my sound system gives me a heart attack and my cat becomes fixed to the ceiling (slight exaggeration).

Is it possible to fix this issue? I already have the sound output from the cable box turned up all the way. Changing the capture volume in the recording preferences won't have any affect, as it'll raise or lower both volumes. I've poked around on Google, but don't seem to see any way to fix this, so I was hoping that maybe someone came across it before.

Thanks in advance!

Looks for the delayed settings settings script I posted here or one of the follow ons.
