I am using 2 pvr 150 MCE tuner cards with R5F27 often times during the recording the video gets messed up, the vertical hold sort of flickers with the picture at multiple heights superimposed on top of each other.

all of the same hardware had previously worked with an R5D1 installation, so I don't think its a hardware problem.

Any suggestions would be appreciated.
I am new to linux, so I need what to do spelled out in detail.

Have you tried changing the capture resolution to 720 x 480 as outlined in tjc's Hints and Tips under "known issues"? Also turning off VBI in "Myth Setup"? I had a lot of jumpiness and vertical tearing until I did those things.
