Just curious of anyone has got, or is playing with the "interlaced" modes in the 6xxx drivers from nividia?
I'd really like to get a working 1920x1080i display, just to see what it looks like, and if I like it.
I have a 1920x540, and a 960x540 (which is what I run) just curious what other people are doing.. Heck, curious if anyone got 6xxx drivers running on their knoppmyth box. Mine craps out (5200 ultra) about "can't start X" and I have to go back to the distro drivers.
Anyone else?

the drivers "crap out" as you say because of glx. you can comment out the load glx line and it will start X or you can fix the problem as discussed already on the forums.
By the way what are you outputting such insane resolutions to?

I live in an area (Phoenix) that has numerous HDTV OTA (over the air) broadcasts. Right now I have a HDTV tuner hooked up to my 66" mitsubishi HDTV big screen, and it looks REALLLLY good. Especially the PBS HD loops are astonishing. There are definately times where you get that "looking out the window" feeling. Not all the time, but some.
As far as PVRs' go, I have a direcTivo that I'm replacing with my Myth cluster, and I want to bring in HDTV signals as well at some point.
I'm using a 960x540p mode as the output for everything from the Myth Frontend right now, since I can't get 1080i modes to work. I have gotten a 1920x540p mode to work, but the aspect ratio is WAY off, and tough to compensate for.
Once I get the 1080i modes working correctly, then I'll be putting an HDTV tuner in one of the backends to record HD programming. No point in spending the money before then. Heck, I'm still working on raising the "WifeAcceptanceFactor{tm}". She's had her Tivo for 4 years, so it's been an uphill battle.
As far as the drivers go, already tried doing everything I could with commenting out GLX, apt-get'ing the kernel update drivers etc, trying the 611x drivers, no love on 3 different KnoppMyth R4V4 boxes. One has a TI200, one has a TI4200, the other has a 5200ultra.
Only way I can get X to start is to roll back to the 4xxx drivers. Just wondering if anyone else was having as much "fun" as I am trying to get the drivers running on R4V4.

well I haven't tried the drivers on R4v4, but my R4v3 upgraded with the debs has no problems using them once I comment out the glx line. I have not been able to fix that however ( I must admit I haven't tried too hard, I don't use gl)
How are you outputting to your tv? are you using a vga->component converter or does your tv accept vga, or are you trying to use dvi?

Odd. I had no trouble on a deb upgraded 15.1 box once I did an apt-get for the nvidia-glx package. It's running a 5200plus.
