Hi,

I'm using knoppmyth R4 with an athlon 1.8 and a pvr-350 card.

With the initial setup I could output to the monitor fine.

Then I followed the threads here

http://mythtv.org/pipermail/mythtv-user ... 19431.html

and got it so I could 'dd' a file to the video device and it worked great! Great picture, sound worked.

The next step was to set up X . It does work, I have the myth UI on my TV now, but when watching TV or playing a saved video, XFRee is taking nearly 100% of the CPU, the image is somewhat slower than normal speed, and no sound.

I'm so close to having a working setup with tv-out, but I'm not sure where to look next. Nothing at all out of the ordinary in syslog or dmesg.

Dave

I enabled the setting for the PVR-350 in the TV playback settings menu. Now instead of slow video with no audio, I get a blank screen when trying to display video. I have to restart the X server at that point.

TV out on the 350 from all I surmise is at best buggy. Your bet best is to follow the Howto http://ivtv.writeme.ch/tiki-index.php?page=TvOutHowto and browse ivtv mailing list http://www.poptix.net/ivtv/ You may also consider updated the ivtv drivers.

Dave, did you get around your slowness and lock-up problem?

I did finally get it working. Reshuffling the PCI cards seems to have done the trick in my case. Not all PCI slots are equal, depending on the motherboard, I guess.
