i had my hardrive die out on me and its been ahwile since ive installed mythtv, i have this problem every time and yet i forgot how i fixed it, i have a leadtek winfast tv2000xp and bttv does not correctly autodetect it so i need to specity it is tuner=2, however i cannot seem to figure out where to do that, the common answer ive seen is in modules.conf, which i cannot seem to edit, i also tried adding options bttv card=34 tuner=2 in /etc/mythtv/modules/bttv but that didnt work either, i know this is probably a simple thing to fix, i have got it working before if someone could point me in the right direction i would appreciate it
thanks

edit /etc/modules you will find a line in there for the bttv module and add your bits to the end. In the end the line should look like this:

Code:
bttv card=34 tuner=2

As good measure I usually do an update-modules (don't know if it matters) and then a reboot and all should be good. :)

thanks, ive gotten this working, now i have another strange problem, my program guide is off by 4 hours, like a show that says its at 9 30 comes on at 5 30 etc...im assuming this has something to do w/the timezone or something, my time appears correct, im not sure if i have a timezone set, when i type date i get UTC and the correct info

thanks

- Make sure your time and TZ are set correctly.

- Restart the system so that all the daemons come up with that setting.

- Run mythtv-setup from an xterm (ssh in from another box with an X server, or exit the MythTV GUI and click on the menubar to start one)

- Tell it "yes" to clear your program schedule

- Go through the other settings there to make sure there are no other clock related issues (clock offset or the like)

- Run the suggested program (mythfilldatabase?) to refill your program guide. The best way to do this is actually to use the myth backend script from /etc/cron.daily.

well one of these days you'll remember to make a backup copy of it. lol

there is a good starting point for the leadtek over on the mythtv mailing list.
