I have an old InteractTV Telly box frontend with a single slot via motherboard running r5c7 KnoppMyth that I used to have a PVR-350 card in. Replaced the PVR with an old HD-3000 card I had laying around since the old "buy before the brodcast flag makes it illegal" days. It works fine for recording HD and digital.

However, my gray hauppage remote does not work when plugged into the HD-3000 remote port. I gather the HD-3000 ir chip is different.

Googling the issue there are some old hacks out there but I would like to know if anyone has a simpler solution.

Another possibility is if I could control the front end via an ethernet probram running on a pc located nearby.

The frontend and a pc are located in my wifes workspace so see could use the pc to control the frontend if needed.
