I have been having a problem with a new Hauppauge PVR-150 tuner with remote control and R5D1. IVTV reports a tuner type of 4 on the card when autoconfiguring during boot, which results in the tuner not being detected. A quick edit of modprobe.conf to define the tuner as 50 solved the problem. I now have good quality TV signal. However, the remote control seems to work intermittently. More specifically, the remote control will work for the first couple of reboots after initial install and then the next time I reboot the system, the remote does not work, and will not work for each subsequent boot. "ps -a" shows that the "lircd" process is initially running, but disappears from the list within a minute or less. Trying to manually start the lircd process results in lircd showing up as a process for about a minute, and then disappearing from the process list. As far as I can tell, when the remote is working, there is another process running called "lircd_dev". When the remote is not working, lircd_dev does not show up in the list.

I have tried running lircd in non-daemon mode and found that when I run "irw", lircd shuts down saying something about no port available (I don't have the specific lircd output right now, but will post later if required). IVTV detects that the tuner card does have infrared remote capabilites.

Input would greatly be appreciated since I have had to go back to using a poor quality hauppauge wintv go-plus tuner card with remote that works.

Please don't repeatedly post the same stuff under different topics. http://mysettopbox.tv/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?t=13972

This doesn't actually gain you any extra exposure since most of the folks who are likely to be able to help read _everything_ anyway, and it annoys Cecil, which you really don't want to do. The last time he really gave someone hell for bad forum manners I'd swear the paint behind my monitor was blistering.
