ChumLord,
Great job on the ndiswrapper.ko! I no longer get the error, but like you, I cannot associate the card back to my AP. It's so frustrating when "iwlist wlan0 scan" shows the AP, but beyond that, nothing.

Thanks, I just wish it would've solved someone's issues :) Interesting that you can get your iwlist to report back your ap, mine won't. Another interesting note is that when I plug in a native USB wireless card (prism 2500, iirc) iwconfig and iwlist exhibit the exact same behavior. I'm wondering if there are more things working against us here.

I'll boot up and dig around more this afternoon and see if I can come up with anything.

I don't know if it'll help track down what's going on, but if you have a spare box, try loading up R5D1. My LInksys WMP54G card worked perfectly with that release.

Just downloaded and tried the ndiswrapper.ko file posted by chumlord and when I do the following:

Code:
install -m 0644 ndiswrapper.ko /lib/modules/`uname -r`/misc
depmod -a ndiswrapper

I get a segmentation fault. I'm using the latest release . . . .

Thank you ever so much for the .ko post, it seems to have installed fine as i get no errors now !

I can now continue with the ndiswrapper wiki info on how to get it working !

any pointers on what I need to do next to make it recognise that I have a wlan0 interface would be greatly appreciated :)

also I remember that in suse 10.1 on my laptop I needed to make the ndiswrapper module load at startup, do I need to make this happen for Knoppix/Myth ??
(don't remember how i did it but most prob. was through a nice gui thing (like Yast2))

p.s. I am a bit of a noob to linux (<12 mths) so please explain any reply explicitly - Cheers
