Hi, this sounds a really obvious question but I've been trying to find the answer for a while and not got anywhere.

I want to run Lircd on startup, but it won't run until I 'setserial /dev/ttyS0 uart none', and I can't work out how to do it automatically before lircd launches in the rc.d scripts.

It works if I do it once the system has booted up, then I run lircd manually.

I'm running R5D1 at the moment (bit too scared to update in case everything messes up :)), and the lirc receiver is a very basic serial one.

Anyone?

Thanks in advance,

Will

Ah, it's OK. I think the answer may be that I need to add the command to bootmisc.sh. I'll try that and return back :)

OK, sorted. Had to make sure /etc/lirc/hardware.conf had lirc_serial listed as one of the modules to load.

Also made sure the right serial port settings were in /var/lib/setserial/autoserial.conf.
