I say finally, but this device has been on the market for 2 years now, and I'm just now reading about it. It's USB2 and Firewire. I've been googling about it for about a half hour now and I'm not seeing any mention of it in relation to MythTV, and I don't know if that's because of the pricetag, or the fact that it doesn't appear you can buy it without the bundled software?

$1000 is pretty steep. Don't know if it's standards-based or not, but theoretically, if the device could be bought seperately for $500, I'd *almost* be willing to give it shot, just for the number of different inputs it accepts.

EDIT

I'm looking over the support database and found the following, fearing that only the firewire-in is HDV:

Question
Can I input/output HD via component using the Avid Liquid Pro USB box?

Answer
The Liquid Edition Pro breakout box is only an SD input/output device.
This means that you can not input or output an HD signal with this device.
We recommend upgrading to Avid Liquid Chrome HD.
With that product you could use HD SDI signals from/to the boxes.

That actually raises more questions that answers. Avid Liquid Chrom HD? I haven't seen that anywhere on their site...I guess I'll keep looking...
