My mythtv system was working fine but yesterday i noticed no audio on my recordings.

Rebooting the system i found that the ivtv driver reports:

msp3400 not detected

this card was working fine for 6 months.

i reinstalled knoppmyth and even change to a new machine but i get the same error..

any hints ??

:(

The exact message is:

ivtv0: i2c hardware 0x00000008 (msp3400) not found for command

The pvr-350 was working fine and one day it stopped recording audio and showing that message.

From your information, it sounds like your card has died.
If installing it on another machine along with a reinstall of KM fails, that usually point to a common point of failure, namely the card.
The only thing I suggest is removing the card from the machine and have a good look at the card to check if any obvious failures have happend (Heat sink sliding off, any obvious shorts, components browned/blackened)

i took out the card and look for burnt chips or something unusual but found nothing.

Then i press down the big black heat disipator on the card (on the center of the card, is a big black square), i pressed hard and to the sides, just in case something was not properly seated under it.

i reinserted the pvr-350 card and now i dont get the error about the missing msp3400 :P :P

will check if everything is working ok tomorrow.
