Hi there,

After months of scratching my head wondering why the hell i couldnt connect my cable box to my coax input on my capture card i finally realised (with the help of an XP box) that i need to use a scart to composite cable and plug that into the composite video input on my card. Great! Well not quite.

I still cant figure out how to use the composite input when watching TV. I have re-run mythtv-setup from a shell and looked in the options for capture cards but i cant really see anything obvious to select/change. Id be really grateful if someone could point me in the right direction here as i know im now so close to getting TV on my mythbox.

Many thanks in advance

Rob

Well i have found out why i cant select composite when choosing the video card in setup, apparently the driver for the connexant chipset i am using doesnt have support for the composite in. After a bit of searching i found numerous posts saying you had to edit the /drivers/media/video/cx88/cx88-cards.c file. However i dont seem to have this file on my system. If anyone is able to help me id be very grateful.

To get the source code, you'll need to install mecurial and grab the source code from the repositry.

Have a look here and the first few steps will help you on your way.

You sir are a scholar and a gentleman. That worked an absolute treat. Now to start a new post on why the TV over composite is so damn jerky.
