You're right! How else is anyone supposed to change bios settings? It appears that my keyboard is like a software modem or something. It only fires up in Windows and not until the logon screen is up. !@#

It should say in its instructions that oh, by the way, you need another keyboard too, to change bios settings and to install Windows... Nifty!

Too bad it doesn't have a brand name I could warn everyone for, but here's a link with its ugly picture: http://www.dustin.se/dacsaportal/  (Oh, Dustin has nothing to do with this - I bought it over the counter in a place where the sales people don't have a clue)

Cheers,
/Chris

Among it's many other virtues the ACK-571 is also an honest to Tux PS2 keyboard and mouse. You plug it in and it goes. Work in the BIOS, work in the OS, works everywhere.

Oh and there's no magic dance required to get the receiver to recognize the keyboard like with the RF ones.

Thanks for your help. I decided to try the "MCESKB" because i can't find a german / european store to get the "ACK-571". Furthermore it's also used by none - english speaking people and I will by tired to explain why the "Y" and "Z" key is switched ;).

I found it here:
