So I broke out my Windoze box and put the card in that & installed the included s/w. I immediately got all of the analog channels & digital while plugged into the lower plug. Most digital were encrypted but not all, it seemed I could get the network HD channels just fine. In fact, I picked up channels if I selected "BDA ATSC Tuner" or "BDA Analog Capture" which were the first two choices it presented me with.

What a disappointment I can't seem to get it working on KnoppMyth. I'm about ready now to return it and fork out the money for a Hauppage to save myself further time & frustration (I hope, else I'll be forced to use Windoze!).

Ummm... I don't get it. I have this card and it works absolutely great. I get OTA, QAM256 and analog channels. I even hacked up the kernel driver to get the remote working.

Just set up the card with mythsetup and then scanning for the channels within mythsetup.

That's it.... I see your message log files and they look perfect.

Can't comment on R5E50, but using a Kworld ATSC 115 with R5F1, I pick up both ATSC Broadcast (if connected to an antenna) and QAM (if connected to cable) on the TOP connector. Note this is different from Windoze where the top connector is ATSC Broadcast only and the bottom connector is used for QAM and Analog.

BTW, it's my understanding that some upcoming DVB driver change may allow QAM to be switched to the lower input for those who want to connect an antenna to one input for ATSC and a cable to the other for QAM & analog, or don't wish to split up the cable signal to attach to both input connectors.

So I'm a total linux n00b and I was curious if the remote patch works on r5f27, and if so, if someone could walk me through how to do it (as I am a total linux n00b). I'm not sure I understand exactly what I am patching, and cannot for the life of me find anyone that has clear instructions on it. Thanks!

Since the last previous activity on this thread was _before_ the R5F27 release, you may want to look for a more recent discussion... Like http://knoppmyth.net/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?t=16665 Since that's a Tier 1 posting in theory it "just worked" with no fussing around.

Or maybe the writeup here on the wiki... http://www.knoppmythwiki.org/index.php?page=kworld115HowTo
