im trying to set up spdif output (with the on board sound) and i cant seem to find any where online that will help me, most say edit the /etc/asound.conf file and just change a bool setting but that file isnt there, could some one enlighten me on what file i need to edit and where it would be? thanks my specs asus a7v8x-x athlon xp 2500+ 256mb pc 2700 pvr 250 mce geforce 3 ti 200 |

well i managed to get it outputing and at a nice volume... how your guess is a good as mine, i was fooling with the mixer and i found some where a comment that one of them needs to be at 0 zero percent so i did that to them all and went from there now it works |

well it seems that one of the contorls have 4 levels 0 min med max and i just set it to 0 i cant realy read it since its on the tv and im not sure how i did it, it may have bin something else i did but i reccamend u go to alsa-project.org and get the lattest driver and fallow the guide there to installing it and then fool with the mixer thats what i did |
