At first i just want to set this up without TV In.

Motherboard - BioStar M7NCDhttp://www.biostar-usa.com/mbdetails.asp?model=m7ncd
PNY GeForce4 MX440 Video Card / 64MB / AGP 8X / TV Outhttp://www.pny.com/products/verto/geForce4/mx4408xagp.asp
PNY 512MB PC2700 DDR 333MHz Memory
Creative Labs Sound Blaster Live! 5.1 PCI OEM - i have a motherboard with on board ac97 chip and i had problems with it. So i figured this would be the best way around it.
Im using a regular style case. Size isnt important to me.

I plan on adding a 160 Gig Segate - it is a 7200 rpm 8mb cache. this will be for mp3s
i would like to get a second for video when i add a tv in card.
i also plan on using a regular 6 gig hard drive i have lying around for the operating system. i like the idea of keeping mythtv on it s own hard drive.

When i get a tv in card i was planning on getting the Haupauge pvr-250

I have yet to figure out what remote to get and or wireless keyboard and mouse. any recomendations would be great.

thanks
Gordon

MythTV will not work without a TV tuner.

So without the pvr-250 card Myth Tv will not work period the end?
Because i was more interested in the juke box side of Myth Tv
Other than that do you think i should be ok with the setup?

You can add an Aitech Wavewatcher tv capture card to your box for $12 + s/h . I got one as a second tuner and it's not bad for an ultra cheap bttv card.

does the Aitech card work out of the box or did you have to do some configurations and if so what?
Thanks

It autodetected fine. I had to do a little customizing to the module that loaded the bttv drivers because of having two bttv cards in the same box, but I would imagine it would have autoconfigured itself fine if it were the only card in the box. If you get one and have problems, you can pm me for specific settings.

If the card does not autodetect/autoconfigure for him, I'll gladly post the settings I've used.

Myth worked fine for me as a jukebox beore I got a tuner.

It's cool to have to play ripped cd's, dvd's, etc, but of course you aren't harnessing the true power of mythtv ;)
