I am planning on switching from cable to satellite. I was going to get dish netowork. I just need to know what I need for equipment from Dish Network.

My current setup has a 2x pvr-150mce. Dish offers both a single tuner and dual tuner recievers. I just want to know if I need the single or the dual.

Any help would be appreciated. Also if I am in the wrong part of the forum just let me know.

I've had a DishPVR many years before moving to MythTV. I now have 2 tuners. My old DishPVR 508 is still up and running. But for my MythTV install I "leased" the lowest end receiver the Dish 301.

From my understanding, you can use just about any receiver (no idea about HD). One thing to remember about the dual-tuner receiver is that there is only 1 physical box and 1 IR receiver. The second tuner is only accessible through a UHF symbol. So MythTV can only control one tuner on the dual-tuner receiver.

Hope that makes sense
Ben

Kind of, I just want to know if I can use both of my pvr-150 cards at once. I also want to know if I can do it with just the single tuner reciever or if I need the dual in order to do it.

If you're looking for a dual-tuner myth setup, you should get 2 separate dish receivers (one for each PVR card). I'm not sure the dual-tuner dish receiver allows you to control the second tuner via IR.
