Can anyone suggest some pci wireless cards that are compatible with mythtv? That would be a big help.

Look for cards supported by madwifi, which R5D1 includes the support for. I am using a DLink DWL-G510 (rev B1). In this case the B1 is important as some other revs use a different chipset which is not supported by madwifi. This card worked out of the box for me (other than setting it up of course).

There are other supported wireless chipsets as well (non madwifi). Take a look at the following link. There was another place with an exhaustive list of cards that worked with Linux, you'll have to hunt around.
