My husband and I are just about to get started with KnoppMyth. We can get a sweet deal right now for an N-series Dell (no OS, minimal hardware) but it has a Pentium D 820 processor rather than an Athlon, etc. (which seems to be what most users have experience with). Does anyone have any ideas (good news or bad) about what issues we might encounter if we go this way?

I'm thinking of using Hauppauge tuners, probably a PVR350 and a bt878. It might have SATA DVD drives which I can work around with spare parts for the installation. They use either a north/southbridge chip set or Intel 965G (which I guess is different?).

Speaking of 965G, how important is support for HDMI? I understand this one doesn't support it. We might want a 36" plasma TV in the next couple years.

Melanie
