Hi, I just tried installing on a Via Epia (model EN15000) mini-itx board, and it seems that everything goes well until I reboot. After that I am left with a shell login and an empty xorg.conf. Any idea how I get back on track? I guess the Knoppix 5 hardware detection does not yet cover this specific piece of video hw ... |

Hmmm .. Seems that I just ran into the old "lousy chipset support on Linux" issue here. Crawled the net and it would probably take me months to get everything up and running. Time that I do not have. So advice for everyone else: AVOID CN700-based motherboards when building Linux systems. It's very sad, but I'm switching to Windows and MediaPortal for the time being. Will check future releases of KnoppMyth, though. Thanks a lot, VIA! ![]() |

Hi I have the same chip on my EN12000EG and there exist support for Linux. I have tried to install Fedora Core 6, and that version find the chip correct. With that setup I have also been able to get X working with a TV (S-video) , but then there is the installation of mythtv.... I have also noted that there exists drivers for the chip on Vias home page, but I have not managed to install them correct. Best Regards Mr Q |

Hey guys, Thanks for the hints. I'm going for one more try using either Fedora or the latest Ubuntu that should also contain the latest xorg via-drivers. Hopefully this will allow me to get Xorg running and THEN add OpenChrome drivers and MythTV. Running Windows on hardware like this should be banned from the beginning. Unfortunately hardware vendors usually don't share that idea... ![]() |

inzide or anyone else, did you have success with the 15000 board? I'm looking for mini HD solutions and this board is interesting. |
