I've been reading that this card can do composite in. I thought that was kind of odd due to the lack of a composite connector. The special dongle that comes with it has composite cables, but I can only assume those are output only. I do have an S-Video to Composite adapter that I could use with the S-Video in.

The basic problem is I want to connect my old NES via composite up to my HTPC. Am I going about this the wrong way? Is there a better way to hook up my gaming consoles?

Thanks!

Isn't there always some delay when watching anything via myth? I had thought about doing this with my Dreamcast, but then remembered that even when viewing "Live TV" the progress indicator always shows being about 2 seconds behind the total time. Those two seconds would be disaster when trying to play most games.

I think the only way to hook up anything like that would be direct to the TV.

Good point!

I actually use a DVI cable to a Samsung 22" Widescreen LCD. I have a TV, but I don't particularly want to use it anymore (big and clunky, where as the LCD is mounted on the wall)

The monitor does have VGA input, so I could use the monitor to switch between what input I'm viewing. Has anyone heard of a composite to VGA converter, or something like that? I might just have to face the facts, but it never hurts to try ;)
