Post subject:  recommended wireless keyboard

I'm thinking of purchasing a wireless keyboard/mouse for my R5D1 setup and I am looking for recommendations. I've seen multimedia keyboards with a built in mouse that looks appealing. Something that would work right away with any tweaking would be nice.

It works great, and it's instant. The PC does not know it's wireless. There's an IR receiver that plugs into the PS/2 keyboard and mouse jacks on the PC. So it'll work with any PC, with no drivers or other crap.

And that is a great price too! Works great out of the box.

I just picked up a cordless set yesterday from Best Buy. The keyboard is super thin and pretty small. It's really looks like it's made for Home Theater.

Pretty good price considering Best Buy:

the keyboard they sell at the mythtv store worked out of box for me on R5E50. nice controls for the mouse, but it seems you can't beat that price from directron.com posted above...

Awesome!
Thanks for all the replies. I have wires running from my mythbox to the tv upstairs so an RF keyboard sounds like the way to go. My Logitech rumblepad 2 works fine from one floor to the next. I live in Canada so I'll Google the part numbers everyone listed to see if it???s available here first to avoid the custom charges.

Thanks for the link! That is a great price on a wireless keyboard.

My remote is a Harmony880, and I'm kind of in love with it. But I know what you mean. I keep the keyboard handy at all times.
Have you found that it has an amazingly good battery life? I think I get about 4 months on a pair of AAs.
My only complaint about the kbd is the flimsy battery door. Other than that, it's a nice, solid keyboard.
Wayyyyy better than a full-size keyboard and separate mouse. I'd buy another one, if I broke it or the dog ate it.

I may be doing even better than that, I only remember changing the batteries in it once so far...

OBTW - I actually have an ACK-571 (without the "multimedia" buttons) not an ACK-581.

Stumbled across these the other day as I needed an additional one.

It is the 571, I have two 581's and the 3 keyboards work interchangeably on the machines. Make an offer if you don't like the price although even at his buy it now is a good price.

I only use Logitech desktop kits for my Dragon MCs. They work really well, as long as you keep the receiver lower than the KB/M (on the floor is good). Very good range and batteries (which are supplied) last ages.
Even the cheapest ones in beige cardboard boxes are excellent.
