i don't know why, but after upgrade Video, Games and scheduled recorings doesn't work...
I'm re-installing all from scratch...

Hi all, I use successfully my knoppmyth r4v2 with my hardware... after some problems, now all works well: - P3 800 coppermine - P6PRo Mainboard (i suppose it's a BX...) - 256MB RAM DIMM - GeForce 440MX SE 8X - Leadtek WinFast TV2000XP Deluxe Now I have the possibility to upgrade mainboard and CPU with an: - AMD Athlon TB 1100 Mhz - ECS K7S5A - 256MB RAM DDR I have to say that actually i cannot watch live tv well... i have set 352x288 resolution in LIVE TV software encoders (P3 800 can't encode and decode in realtime Live TV with 480x480.... when i set up a schedule, 480x480 rtjpeg works well); and when i try to record from tv by MPEG4 encoder, my videos are choppy... For you, will this upgrade improve my performance? Sould i spend this money (about 40€), to obtain a best hardware or are they nearly the same thing? Thank You |

1. As root: mythbackup(You'll want to check your db for errors before running this) 2. Pull hard drive(and whatever hardware from old system) 3. Install in to new system. 4. Auto Upgrade |

OK. i've upgraded... Now my question is: I tried to use Auto Upgrade option in the cdrom installation, and this showed me: "Attention: this will destroy your data in hda..." etc.... Will i lose my video/music/image? Will my settings be restored after? Do i have to recompile myth for lirc and LCDproc support? Although i don't know why don't i have to reinstall all and try R4V3.... |

if you use autoupgrade it destroys all data on /dev/hda1 which is the sytem drive/partition. the data drive/partition (/dev/hda4 using knoppmyth default install) remains unchanged. |

no, i did't... but something was restored automagically... my channel works, images works, sql database, seems to be up and working right... anyway, i think i will install r4v3... |
