Post subject:  frontend wireless from the boot cd ?

Hi guys

Does somebody knows how I could activate the wireless for the frontend booted from the bootcd ?

BTW I' running my frontend from my laptop (IBM t40p). Everything is running fine, and I would like to use the wireless adapter instead of the other card.

Thanks in advance

Yohan

That depends on what wireless card you have. I would look at other Linux forums for your wireless card and follow their instructions.

I got my Orinoco card working easily - I believe it found the drivers right away, I just had to use iwconfig to set the right SSID for my network. I only run the frontend occassionally from my laptop, which is actually my work laptop, so I don't want anything installed to it. Therefore, every time I boot to that, I must run iwconfig.

The video does run surprisingly smooth from a wireless connection, though - it is a nice way to run Myth.

my guess is you won't have much luck with anything but an orinoco card as most of the other ones require additional drivers.
