I am trying to get KnoppMyth (R5E50) setup on a VIA EPIA-CN10000EG with a PVR-150 capture card. I was initially having trouble getting output through the Composite output, but I "borrowed" an xorg.conf file from a test installation of iMedia MythTV Linux. My problem now is related to MPEG-2 hardware accelerated decoding. X is loading properly, and I am able to record and playback, although CPU utilization is too high as the MPEG decoding is being done by the CPU.

It appears that the system is not properly identifying the video card in order to enable DRI. In troubleshooting, I followed instructions on the DRI web site.

dmesg | grep agp yields:
Linux agpgart interface v0.101 (c) Dave Jones
agpgart: Detected VIA P4M800CE chipset
agpgart: AGP aperture is 128M @ 0xe8000000

Under iMedia Linux, I also get messages like "AGP 3.5 compliant device..." and "AGP3 set to x8...". I think that this may be part of the problem.

also, dmesg | grep drm yields:
[drm] Initialized drm 1.0.1 20051102

iMedia Linux also has a message like "[drm] Initialized via 2.10.2 20060616...". I believe this is also part of the missing pieces.

My question is "Should KnoppMyth identify the CN700 graphics chip out of the box?". If not, I assume that I will need to update some packages. Any idea which packages and the procedure for updating them (I *use* Linux a bit, but usually CentOS versions and I am not usually building pacakges. Debian and apt-get are new to me)?
