My KnoppMyth installation has been working perfectly for some time now, with the exception that anytime I run mplayer (in MythVideo or MythStream, or from the command line), the machine completely freezes after a few frames or a few seconds, and I have to hard reboot. I have run mplayer -vo null -ao null, and it still freezes after a few seconds. This is only with mplayer-- I have recorded and watched hundreds of hours of TV without any problems. Any advice on further debugging? I'm using an old Gateway MB w/ Celeron 1Ghz, MSI GeForce4 64 MX4000, SB Live. |

Have you tried the "-vo gl" option for mplayer. Ive heard of a lot of people having freezes with xv. |

What version of mplayer? Have you tried installing the latest stable build? I would recommend trying the update if your version is older than the current. You could also try killing the mythfrontend, and launching mplayer via a shell so you can read the output which may or maynot be helpful in diagnosing the problem. |
