I am looking at putting together a mythbox and would like to use the Hauppauge 1600. Does anyone know if there are linux drivers available for this card, or if they are in development? Thanks |

I made the brilliant decision to buy one on impulse before asking the same question. Apparently, the answer is no. The linuxtv.org wiki lists it as officially unsupported http://www.linuxtv.org/wiki/index.php/ATSC_PCI_Cards The manufacturer states that the drivers are in development http://www.hauppauge.com/pages/support/support_hvr1600.html so that would put me SOL and you in good shape to make a better decision. Go check out the dragon site, buy one of the cards they suggest I'm going to have to run a windows media center in the meantime. UGH. |
