Hey everyone, This is my first attempt at MythTV and everything is going pretty well except that 1) The display is too large for my screen (this I know how to fix, gotta mess with modelines and such) and 2) During playback there is what looks like a translucent bar that scrolls from the bottom of the screen to the top over and over. Any ideas on what causes this/how to fix it? NOTE: I'm playing this on an older tv that is 640x480 so the generated X config file probably isn't correct. Would correcting my modeline fix this? Also, any links to a guide for people that are new to video would be really helpful. Thanks, Matt |

Hi, That is typically cause by a grounding issue between tv and some other connection. Often if you have one device plugged into one outlet and a different (computer?) into different outlet, there is a difference of potential and you see the 60 htz difference of the 59.94 hertz vert sweep. More common with older homes. Mike |

Both the TV and Computer are plugged into the same surge protector. Anything else that could cause this? |

Hi Try disconnecting antenna, audio amp, anything that has an external metal connection. Process of elimination.. Mike |
