Hi, I'm thinking of buying the LC10 case; however, I'm concerned that the spot I want to place only has about a 1/2 inch clearance both height and width. The back will be completely cut out so the rear fan should exhaust with no problem. Do you think I'm pushing the limit on air flow etc? Is there a way to monitor temperature in Knoppmyth? I'd like to establish a baseline temp before I move into cramped quarters. Thanks all. John |

mbmon will show your temp. The LC10 draws air from the front and sides. The vents on the left side (your left, as you face it), are particularly important, as that allows cool air to run over the cards. Top clearance isn't a problem. |

I have a similar situation with my Antec NSK-2400 case. I've only got about 1-1.5 inches on either side of the case. Both the front and back are open but the sides and top are pretty cramped. Worst yet the NSK2400 vents the CPU chamber out the right hand side of the case. The temps on my dual-core Athlon 64 3800+ are about 40C idle and about 48C under load. These aren't what I would call "danger zone" but are certainly higher than I would like and summer is coming. Being that the LC10 is smaller and has a little less airflow, and you have less space than I do on the sides I think you do have cause to be concerned. If the LC10 vent out the back you may be OK though. Martian |
