Post subject:  No video, no lan... help!

Hello!
I'm trying to install knoppmyth in my pc but I'm not having success...
My machine:
P3 933mhz
384mb sdram 133mhz
10gb hard drive (just for testing, it will be getting a 80gb drive)
(don't know the motherboard manufacture, but it's a via chipset)
Geforce 2 Mx 400
Pinnacle TV Tuner (bt878)
DVB-S Skystar2
Sound blaster PCI 128
ADMtek NC100 10/100 ethernet card

I installed knoppmyth in my hd, everything went just fine. Reboot... and no X server. It just keeps flashing and then says "INIT: Id "c7" respawning too fast: disabled for 5 minutes".
And there's no network card either...

Makes me think you need to look at this:

Edit: But thinking on it more, did you do anything with the nvidia drivers?

Half solved... Lan is working.
I finally managed to get video but when i try to use tv-out, the screen just flickers, any suggestion about the vertical and horizontal refresh rate configuration in xorg.conf ? I'm now thinking about buying a geforce 6200...

What do you have in your xorg.conf?

For an NTSC TV:
Code:
        HorizSync 30 - 50
        VertRefresh 60 - 60

If you're feeling daring you can make the vertical "58 - 62" but outside of that most TVs simply won't sync. Have you tried force installing the legacy driver?
Code:
install-nvidia-debian.sh 1.0.7184 -force

Do you have both a monitor and the tv hooked up to the machine?

Unplug the monitor. For at least a few of the nvidia drivers that come with the current km, the video setting will be set to 800x600 if it detects that something is using the non-vga outputs.

I'm not sure if this is true for all nvidia cards, but it is for mine, and I have an nvidia Geforce chip also.
